After 18 years as Mayor, I am uniquely qualified to know what it takes to be the Mayor of Matthews. It is vital that we elect Jim Taylor for Mayor.
He is accountable, energetic, professional and well-connected with state and local leaders. His leadership and vision will protect our businesses, quality of life, schools and our low property tax rate.

Matthews is a wonderful place to live, work, play and raise our families. I want to continue working for you to keep our community strong and vibrant. We need to protect what we have worked so hard to achieve while always striving to improve as we move forward.
I am Jim Taylor and I want to continue to bring positive progressive change as Mayor of the Town of Matthews.
These are exceptionally challenging times for each and every one of us. With the downturn in the economy, the prospect of continuing high unemployment, along with ever shrinking funds available to local communities like Matthews, now more than ever, is the time that demands experienced, knowledgeable leadership and strong partnerships for our community.
In my 15 years of Public Service to Matthews, I have clearly demonstrated my ability to relate to a wide variety of people and understand diverse issues. I am always eager to investigate and evaluate all positions prior to making a decision.
I believe in honesty and accountability. I do not dodge or sidestep any issue, especially those tough or difficult issues which are crucial to ensure that Matthews will continue to be known as the best of the best.
I look forward to continuing dialogue with citizens of our community as I campaign for the position of Matthews' Mayor. I appreciate your input and suggestions, as well as your support, as we continue towards our goal of "Building a Better Matthews Community".
